        Pictures of God 03/18/12

Author: Lucia Lloyd, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Heathsville, VA

John 3:14-21 In the end, the good news of the gospel is not about us. The good

news of the gospel is not about our faithfulness, it's about God's faithfulness. The

good news of the gospel is a story of God's mercy. The good news of the gospel is

a picture of Jesus. The good news of the gospel is a picture of God's love.

        2011 Affirming Church Survey

        Author: Elaine

6,826 churches by the end of 2011, an increase of 367 churches from the

previous year. This in spite greatly reduced man hours available to do the

massive email sweeps through entire denominations required now days to

find the affirming churches. The good news is that the movement has clearly

'main line' in several denominations (e.g. Episcopal). The 'bad' news is that to

find the affirming churches now in these groups massive email sweeps are

required. This is very time consuming, exactly the time commitment we were

in short supply of this year. In spite of our resource limitations, the directory

grew at a rate of over one church a day and was on pace at the early part

of  the year to completely smash the one year new church add record before

resource limitations stepped in to slow down the 'grand search' for affirming

        churches throughout the world.

Author: Lucia Lloyd, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Heathsville, VA

John 1:29-42 Life the greatest improvisation of all. With no script. No idea

what’s going to happen, often with people and places you have never seen

before. And you are not in control. So say “yes.” And if you’re lucky, you’ll find

people who will say “yes” back.

       Not a Funeral Sermon 05/15/11

Author: Lucia Lloyd, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Heathsville, VA

Psalm 23 The 23rd psalm is about living like a happy sheep, well fed, well

rested, well cared for by the good shepherd.  Simply put.. “God loves you.”

well-loved psalm because it reminds us that we are well known and well loved

by the Lord, our good shepherd.

       The Waltz 02/06/11

Author: Lucia Lloyd, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Heathsville, VA

in. Who you are is not determined by where you happen to be.  Who you are is

not determined by the people around you.  Who you are is not determined by

what you’re wearing.  Who you are is determined by who you are.  You are the

       your minds in Christ Jesus.

        2010 Affirming Church Survey

        Author: Elaine

6,459 churches by the end of 2010, an increase of 543 churches from the

previous year and that after a massive clean up that saw well over a hundred

out-dated entries removed from our records. The year was marked by the

continued emergence of the Episcopal churches who set a new one year

record for church adds by one denomination. We believe, that the Episcopal

surge is not an isolated event, but indicative of a wide spread movement that

is rapidly opening up church doors throughout the world.

Does it seem like the struggle to end anti-gay bias within the church

is taking an inordinate amount of time? If we look at civil rights

movements that predate ours, we gain some valuable insight and

realize that the struggle is rarely over in a year or two. It may take

         generations.

       Author: Scott Redmond

Legislation that attempts to prevent gays (GLBT) from enjoying the

which has been the hallmark of our country for over 200 years.

A closer look at the clobber passages some use against

       homosexuals.

       Thirty in Three

       Author: Elaine

In three years time, God has opened up almost as many church

doors to the gay and lesbian community as had been opened in the

previous thirty years combined. This has occurred during some of

the worst anti-gay sentiment we have seen since the inception of the

gay Christian movement some thirty odd years ago.

       Righteousness and Justice

       Author: Elaine

Why the Church is 'missing' it and is growing further away from

the heart and soul of God's Word and towards a gospel that preaches

intolerance and discrimination? Judgment is coming, but it will start

       first with the Church.

       Author: Len van den Berg

We are living in a time of transition, both individually and

       corporately as the Church.

       How Long O Lord?

       Author: Linda Campbell Marshall

This pattern has repeated itself over and over again throughout

       Church history.

I am the Voice of One Calling Out in the Desert

       Author: Blyth

We need to ask ourselves a rather ncomfortable question. Are we

willing to say what God has asked us to say, are we willing to do

what God has asked us to do, even if it is unpopular, going

completely against what people want to hear or see? Are we willing

to be the voice in the wilderness calling, "Prepare the way of the

       Lord?"

Truly God is with us. No matter the circumstances in the world

us to open our eyes, to hear the angels in unexpected voices, to go

see the Savior of the world.

Red vs. Blue States and Prophecy

the Body of Christ as a whole over the last 10+ years and recent

prophecy specifically addressed to the gay community.

       Listening to God

       Author: Blyth

We need to stop and listen to God before we do something rash

and step out of His will, hurting ourselves and others in the

       process.

      The Word Became Flesh

      Author: Blyth

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld

His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of

grace and truth." (John 1:14 NKJV)

       They are Dreaming Dreams...

       Author: Len van den Berg

"And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit

upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see

       visions..." (Joel 2:28).

USA Election and God's Portion for our Lives

       Author: Pamela White

"My precious children, the distress of this moment will pass. Know

that you are close to my heart and that my purposes for you have not

been sidelined...  The change of earthly government indicates a

season change for you as well...."
