Amazon reader review: This CD set is awesome! It is all the greatest Christian songs from this year. The first disc is mostly ballads and pop. It begins with MercyMe's "Here With Me" an awesome song, and gets better from there!"
Disc 2 is mainly Rock and Funk, and it is done very well, every song is a hit! When all is said and done, you might as well buy this.

Amazon reader review: After several releases that were driven by songs, the people behind WOW decided to change things a little and release a worship project that included songs from well known artists. Thus this 2 disc set was born. The songs themselves are either well loved worship songs or newer self-penned songs. They range from the classic ("Oh Lord, You're Beautiful" by Keith Green, "He is Exalted" by Twila Paris, and "Step by Step" by Rich Mullins) to modern hits with a worship focus ("God of Wonders" from CITY ON A HILL, "Your Love Oh Lord" by Third Day, Amy Grant's version of "Imagine," and "Redeemer" by Nicole C. Mullen). While the majority of the 33 songs (3 bonus tracks are included) are from previously released projects, 5 of the songs are brand new recordings.

While the style covers a broad spectrum, the focus is clearly on praising God with heart, mind, and soul. There is something here for everyone.

Amazon reader review: I have been a big customer of this CD series. I have bought every one of them from 1996-2005. The first few CDs in the series were not that great, because they would have a few contemporary christian songs and then they had a whole bus load of the crummy Gospel music. However, the WoW 1999 was the first year where they really said o.k. lets lose the gospel and stick to the contemporary rock/pop/alternative/rap Christian music. This set includes Third Days wonderful song "Agnus Dei" originally recorded by Michael W. Smith, Third Day takes it into a new genre Rock. Then there is The W's The Devil is Bad a hip swing tune about the temptation of the devil in our lives. Then we have one of the first appearances of Nichole Nordeman and Jeniffer Knapp.

To tell you the truth, if the company who puts out this series had not put this album out, I would not have bought another WoW CD simply because Gospel is not my kind of Music. However, because this CD was released I have continued buying into this franchise and I have been very pleased with every album since. Thank you for reading my review!
 

 

Amazon reader review: This collection has lots of great hits from a wide variety of artists. Out of the 30 songs included, there are only 2-3 that I don't really care for too much. On the other hand, there are 25 + tunes that I think are excellent. Artists on this CD include: DC Talk, Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, Rebecca St. James, Nicole C. Mullen, Sonic Flood, Jennifer Knapp, and many more. You can't go wrong with this album. I highly recommend it.
